The Cryoforce^TM Network was incubated at Seals, Inc., a Lenexa-based company founded in 1977 by Jeffrey Winkel, a former aerospace engineer. It is an equipment reliability company, specializing in seals, gaskets, and other MRO items. The company was a 1997 Blue Chip Enterprise Initiative Winner, an honor granted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Nations Business Magazine, "First Business" television program, and Mass Mutual Insurance. Seals, Inc. was the founding company of the Independent Sealing Distributors Association, a group with more than 200 members in five countries.
